Biography

Iman Adem was born and raised in Ethiopia. Her passion for math and science ignited in 5th grade leading me to choose a path in Engineering. However, her interest took a significant turn towards bioengineering, especially after she volunteered with an organization dedicated to pediatric cancer patients. Inspired by this experience, she got the opportunity to study abroad, commencing my education at a community college in Bellingham, Washington, before transferring to Oregon State University to complete her undergraduate journey and earn a degree in Bioengineering. During her time at Oregon State University, Iman had the privilege of working closely with a professor on research focused on Endometrial Cancer. This experience solidified my determination to further her education, with the goal of contributing to the advancement of cancer research and aiding those affected by this deadly disease in the future.
