About me
David Adelson is a dermatologist who sees both adults and children. As a clinician he has broad experience in the diagnosis and treatment of skin disease. In addition to caring for individual patients, he is interested in the delivery of dermatology care to populations, the disparity in access to care, and the use of innovations that improve access and outcomes. He is concerned about how quality of care should be measured and how this information can be used to improve value to patients.
He comes to OHSU from the University of Oklahoma where he was involved in the strategic planning and development of the School of Community Medicine. Also at OU, he opened the dermatology service lines at two different specialty clinics: one designed for and built in an underserved community and the other serving the Cherokee Health Systems. He also has provided teledermatology services in Oklahoma and within the Cherokee Nation.
In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, skiing, fishing and other outdoor activities. He also enjoys culinary adventuring and wandering Powells Books.

Insurance
Before scheduling your appointment, we recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any copayments, co–insurance, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with OHSU providers, your out of pocket liability may be higher. Visit the billing and insurance section of our site for more information.
