Welcome to the OHSU MD Program

The OHSU School of Medicine prepares more than 2,200 students and trainees for a dynamic health care and biomedical research environment to advance health for all and serve where needed from urban to rural settings in Oregon and beyond. In turn, our learners join in advancing academic medicine with their advocacy for a diverse, inclusive and respectful climate that promotes the cultural humility and responsiveness necessary to insure better outcomes for all patients and communities.

The school's M.D. program, also called Undergraduate Medical Education, is thoughtfully designed to meet the demands of practicing medicine in the 21st century. We partner with stakeholders across the University and beyond to continuously evolve, allowing us to train the physician workforce of the future.

We aim to graduate physicians with demonstrated lifelong learning and improvement skills who can adapt to an ever-changing world and utilize resources to provide their patients with the best possible care. Our graduates are doctors with the skills to listen, communicate, innovate, lead, and provide the care their communities need.

I'm excited to welcome you and invite you to learn more.

Ben Schneider, M.D.
Interim Associate Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education
