OHSU Division of Arthritis and Rheumatic Diseases
The Division of Arthritis and Rheumatic Diseases at OHSU is a group of academic physicians and allied health professionals specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic disorders. For the past 40 years, the division has had an active educational program to train physicians intending to enter the specialty of Rheumatology.
Rheumatologists specialize in the treatment of disorders of joints, bones, tendons, bursae, and muscles. They have special training in immunology and take care of a wide range of immune-mediated disorders that may affect the blood vessels and major organs such as the kidney, brain, nerves, heart, lungs and liver.
The Division of Arthritis and Rheumatic Diseases at OHSU is at the forefront of rheumatology research and is dedicated to integrating cutting edge therapies in the management of patients with rheumatic diseases both in the Hospital and in the Clinics.
Our dedication to moving rheumatology forward is equally founded in a commitment to education. Our faculty teaches our next generation of clinicians through lectures, coursework, educational curriculum development, and through hands-on mentorship in our clinics and hospital wards. We firmly believe that this commitment to education is one of the best ways we can assure high quality care for patients with rheumatic diseases for generations to come.
