This talk will review the relevance of insecure attachment and adversity in childhood for adult illness and describe therapeutic strategies for ameliorating that impact.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, attendees should be able to:

• Name clinical features that can tell you about someone’s level of attachment insecurity,
• Describe the prevalence of ACE’s and their relevance for adult health,
• Describe therapeutic interventions for trauma at the level of institution and the practitioner.
