Diverse Student Visiting Scholarship
OHSU is dedicated to being an organization diverse in people and ideas.
In support of our commitment to recruit trainees who have experienced significant disadvantage or adversity, OHSU Dermatology is delighted to offer a funded visiting rotation experience to medical students from diverse backgrounds.
Selected individuals will receive the benefits below to assist them in pursuing a career in dermatology.
Program benefits
- A 4-week visiting rotation at OHSU Dermatology Department (limited to specific rotation dates; please see application)
- Reimbursement up to $2,000 for travel, housing, and application expenses
- An assigned faculty mentor
- A resident or fellow near-peer mentor
- A personal meeting with the Residency Program Director
Eiligibility
- At time of anticipated rotation, the applicant must be a 4th year medical student at an accredited medical school in the United States or territories with an interest in completing a residency in dermatology.
- Applicants must meet the definition of diversity as determined by OHSU School of Medicine. OHSU School of Medicine defines diversity as:
- Persons who have experienced significant disadvantage or adversity (i.e., a first generation college graduate; a recipient of social service resources while in elementary or secondary school, enhanced education or other programs for diverse populations; or by experience of economic, cultural, educational or family adversity).

How to apply
- Applicants must meet all listed requirements of the OHSU M.D. Program. To view these, visit OHSU Visiting Students
- Applicants must submit an application for an OHSU Dermatology Visiting Rotation through the VSLO in one of the specified rotation blocks
