Hair Removal
Removing unwanted hair permanently with laser treatments
Laser hair removal is a medical procedure that uses a laser to remove unwanted hair in nearly any area, although the most common treatment areas are the chest, back, legs, armpits, upper lip, chin and bikini area.
Lasers that remove hair are continuing to evolve. We are excited to offer the newest LightSheer® DUET™ Laser, which is FDA approved for permanent hair reduction. Hair color and skin type influence the success of laser hair removal. Although people who have darker hair with light skin color are the best candidates, the new technology offered by the LightSheer® DUET™ can successfully treat darker skin types, as well. In addition, the treatment time is remarkably fast and patients report significantly reduced pain with the new laser.
Laser hair removal provides permanent hair reduction, but some regrowth is possible. For best results, you may need four to six treatments spaced a number of weeks apart. Additional periodic maintenance treatments — perhaps once every three to 12 months — may be needed as well.
