UltraClear Laser Follow-up Care

UltraClear® is clinically proven and FDA cleared as the world’s first MID IR Fiber Laser facial rejuvenation solution that treats multiple skin layers—from stratum corneum to epidermis to mid dermis—to help reverse signs of aging.

It vaporizes the outer layers of dull, damaged skin and heats the underlying skin layers with precisely controlled thermal energy. This causes the skin to heal and restructure, growing new skin cells and increasing collagen and elastin production. The result is smoother, healthier, clearer, and younger-looking skin with more radiant complexion (source text: UltraClear.com).

Follow-up care

  • Cetaphil cleanser

  • Gauze

  • Saline or clean water

  • White vinegar (for dilute vinegar soaks); use 1 TBSP white vinegar in a cup of saline or water

  • Pick up your antibiotics and Valtrex at the pharmacy and start these the day before the procedure

  • Put a layer of numbing cream on the whole face, not so thick that it drips but decently thick. You have 5 grams of numbing cream to use.

  • Apply it appx 1 hour before your appointment

  • You can have some nerve blocks for extra comfort if desired

  • Wash off the ointment with Cetaphil cleanser

  • Soak any areas with saline if they are painful or bloody

  • You can use ice packs 10-15 min per hour if they are soothing to help reduce swelling

  • Apply plastibase ointment (we give you a large tub) whenever the area dries out

  • You can take Tylenol/Advil for pain but it should not be terribly painful

  • The area is a little bloody, wash this off with Cetaphil cleanser

  • Soak the face with dilute vinegar soak on the wet gauze (use 1 TBSP white vinegar for 1 cup of water or saline). If this hurts just use saline or water. Vinegar is antibacterial.

  • The face will begin to ooze a yellowish substance called fibrin. This is a normal part of healing but if you let it accumulate a lot it can slow the healing. That’s why we want you to soak 3x per day for the first few days

  • After the soak, reapply plastibase ointment

  • Redness starts to go down
