The OHSU School of Medicine announced recently that Tamara J. Phillips-Richards, Ph.D., Professor of Behavioral Neuroscience and a senior research career scientist at the VA Portland Health Care System, has been named Chair of the Department of Behavioral Neuroscience. She has served as interim chair since January, 2021.
"I am pleased to accept this appointment and honored to lead a truly remarkable faculty and work to recover from the challenges of the past few years," said Dr. Phillips-Richards. "The work of our faculty, postdocs, and associated staff is changing lives for the better and building our understanding of neurobiological and environmental forces that impact the human condition. This is a time when our society is coming to terms with and seems more ready than ever to redefine and embrace our diversity. I am an advocate for the hard work that will be needed to grow in concert with our existing strengths and in new directions.”
