About me

Dr. Raslan is a neurosurgeon who cares for adult patients with epilepsy, brain tumors, hydrocephalus, and movement disorders. He also treats patients who have chronic pain, such as facial and spinal pain, and pain from cancer.

Some of the surgeries he performs include brain mapping and awake craniotomy for epilepsy and brain tumors; high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) for essential tremor and Parkinson’s disease; and deep brain stimulation for epilepsy and movement disorders.

Dr. Raslan enjoys getting to know his patients and their families and interests, which helps him tailor their treatment to best improve their health and lives.

In his spare time, Dr. Raslan enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and cultural events.

  1. My experience with this provider in this hospital has been very good, he is very good, the treatment is very good, I have no words to deflate the treatment, how they treat the patients and I am very happy to have him as my provider, thank you very much.

  5. Longer to stay alone in a room and after half an hour the doctor show up for a second and disappear for another half an hour. I mean, I don't know what's going on. No communication. No communication.

  6. He was easy to talk to he listened to me explained a part of the focus ultrasound so I could understand.

  18. Dr. Raslan did a focussed ultrasound procedure to stop the tremors in my right hand on Jan. 9th, 2024. I had a phone call appointment with him and his staff on April 11th, 2024 as a follow-up for the procedure. We discussed doing my left side also. I was very pleased with the results of the procedure and with Dr. Raslan and his staff.

I can't guarantee that my surgeries would have turned out as well if he hadn't been my neurosurgeon. His team is top notch as well. I never doubted that I was in good hands. Brilliant.

  50. My surgery was 3 hrs behind schedule, I had less than 5 min review with resident neuro surgeon and never saw attending neuro surgeon. My wife got a 3 min call after surgery saying I was ready to go.Wife noticed bruise on left eye and asked and was told it must have been oxygen mask....just did not feel the wrap around care more of a number and little concern for injury from surgery.

My son has an uncontrolled seizure disorder, we have had to deal with hospitals and doctors since he was born, and he is now 33 years old. we have never been treated as good as we are by OHSU, My son had surgery, the staff there is absolutely amazing, the nurses, the doctors, everybody, we were treated like gold, one of the things that really stood out to me is when he was in the OR I got calls from the OR nurse with updates of how he went under, that is, so awesome, you guys take exceptionally good care of us, we never have to go looking for a nurse, they're always right there, and so informative, they act like he's the only patient in the hospital, you guys are awesome

  62. I waited almost 90 minutes in the exam room before Dr. Raslan came in to meet with me. He offered no explanation or apology. He seemed disinterested in explaining the procedure I was interested in and actually seemed irritated with my questions. Perhaps he is great surgeon, but he is full of himself and lacks humility. It was perhaps the worst experience I have ever encountered with a physician.

  70. I had an appointment with Dr Raslan, but I didn't see him. I guess he was too busy. After I had waited about half an hour, another doctor came in to see me. I had expected to see Dr Raslan because he had performed an unsuccessful procedure on me a couple of weeks ago and this appointment was supposed to be a follow-up.

Informed us of possibility of the procedure working or reduction in seizures or not working, that his type of seizure usually responds best to this procedure

  81. The provider is hard to get in touch with and that is hard to schedule appointment.

  82. My appointment was for 3:20 p.m. the doctor saw me at 5 p.m. I waited 1 hour and 40 minutes to see this doctor. That's a very long time. I think I should have been given the option to reschedule for a later date.

  83. I had a perfect experience at OHSU!!! I have PAH so to put me under anesthesia is a very tricky and only can be done by experienced professionals!!! When I had my neck surgery I had no complications, I didn't retain the water from the IV fluids. Couldn't have asked for a better surgeon. Dr. Rad lab is the very best and highly recommended to everyone!!
