About me
Amanda Dieu, O.D., was born and raised in Southern California. She acquired her B.S degree in Biology at the University of California, Irvine. She found a special interest the eyes and health care, and decided to pursue a career in optometry. She went on to earn her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of California, Berkeley where she graduated with Beta Sigma Kappa honors. She has received multiple honors and scholarships, including the Alcon Case Study Award, The Carol Moore Contact Lens Scholarship, Jimmy and Lillian Low Optometry Scholarship, and William J Burlington Memorial Scholarship. She completed challenging externships at the Walter Reed National Military Center and Veterans Affairs medical facilities in Portland and Los Angeles, solidifying her skills in medical treatments and management of ocular diseases.
As Dr. Dieu developed a passion for specialty contact lens fittings during her fourth year in optometry school, she moved on to complete a fellowship in medical contact lenses with the OHSU Casey Eye Institute. Her expertise is managing very complex corneal and anterior segment cases with specialty rigid and soft gas permeable lenses such as keratoconus, corneal transplants, pediatric and adult aphakia, trauma, and severe dry eyes. She also enjoys managing myopia control with orthokeratology lenses, multifocal contact lenses, and atropine eye drops.
Dr. Dieu is passionate about philanthropy work with goals to help the local community and underserved populations in the world. She has participated in several mission trips to provide vision care to communities in Nicaragua and Jamaica.
Besides providing vision care, Dr. Dieu enjoys exploring the outdoors, cooking, and spending time with her family and dog.
