About me

Dr. Andrea Stroud joined OHSU and the Division of Bariatric Surgery in 2017 after completing her general surgery residency at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire and a minimally invasive and bariatric surgery fellowship at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Stroud is a skilled surgeon and enjoys helping her patients reach their health goals and achieve a better quality of life through bariatric surgery. Her research has centered around the psychosocial factors associated with quality of life following bariatric surgery and she has a particular interest in the treatment of obesity in adolescents.

  1. My provider was a very lovely young lady. She was very sweet and kind. She was explaining some things that we could do. She asked me to research some things before I made a decision and then asked me to come back so we could discuss it very informative very wonderful good doctor.

  3. I feel like Andrea Stroud has a genuine interest in my healthcare. She never made me feel rushed and I felt like she really listened to my concerns and wanted to help me.

  4. Great doctor. Was very detailed explaining everything. I felt I was listened too. I felt very comfortable w/the provider. Was treated great from everyone from start to finish. An, was told if I ever had any questions or concerns at anytime to just call. Or send a message through Mychart.

  5. Although Dr Stroud does not believe I would get relief for the surgery I was referred for, I believe she actively took into consideration my health, goals, and a clear plan of action for health. She listened to me about my chief complaints (a lot of symptoms no diagnosis). She suggested referrals to additional specialists. I feel she is actively trying to provide relief from chronic conditions nd actually diagnose what is wrong versus just throwing medication as a band aid style of care.

  6. Dr. Stroud was completely up to date on all of my information in My Chart. She already had a plan in mind to help solve my problems. She is very well versed in her field. I have total confidence in her. I would recommend her to anyone who needs a bariatric surgeon.

  16. Dr. Stroud did an excellent job. She was very personable, kind, caring, empathetic, and I think she did a great job with the procedure. I did have a couple of issues with OHSU itself. Like first of all, we were there at 5:30, two hours before the procedure, and there was only about 10 or 15 minutes of prep. And then at the end of my procedure when I woke up from anesthesia, there were some issues with security.

  17. I always choose Dr Stroud. She is knowledgeable, has great work ethic. She always puts patient needs first and will make sure you understand the process and are comfortable. She Is professional and understands the patients condition well.Her team was very friendly and understanding as well and made me feel comfortable throughout the process and explained what was going on. I truly believe I made a good decision choosing Dr Stroud for my health care need.

  20. She was of course, kind and thoughtful, just as I would expect, but beyond that, she really paid attention to concerns related to me and the surgery options available to me. We talked about pros and cons of the surgery I had in mind and she opened my eyes to options that I didn't even know were available to me and I really appreciated that. I had started this process at a different hospital with a different doctor and I'm so thankful I made the switch to OHSU and to Dr. Stroud and her team.

  21. My experience with Dr. Andrea Stroud was magnificent she was very punctual. She was actually early to do the appointment her bed side manner are 10 out of 10. She explained the procedure further. She was very friendly and reassuring and call me. She was her expertise on the matter. Was highly appreciated. She did the test without any inconvenience this and it's not cause any problems or did not have any unexpected outcome. And then after the procedure was done, she explained everything that happened and the suggestions for a follow up and she was able to answer all my questions and be very reassuring and it was a magnificent experience. I would do it again with her.
