About me
Biography: I am a family doctor who cares for people of all ages, in all sorts of settings. This includes serving patients in my primary care clinic at OHSU Richmond, in a telehealth clinic for transgender patients seeking support with hormone therapy and patients admitted to the hospital. I grew up in San Francisco, studied contemporary American literature at Stanford, earned my medical degree (MD) at UCSF and moved to Portland for my residency in Family Medicine. I found my home at OHSU in 2005 and am proud to still be practicing here two decades later!
My practice: I have extensive expertise in gender-affirming hormone therapy, as well as procedural skills relating to the reproductive system and contraception. I firmly believe that patients seeking gynecologic care should be offered adequate pain control for all procedures! it is an honor to support people wherever they are at in making the best choices for their own health and well-being. I am also passionate about fostering community partnerships to create meaningful change in the lives of Oregonians. I became a founding member of the OHSU Transgender Health Program in 2011, and inaugural Medical Director of the program in 2019. I teach providers throughout the state of Oregon and beyond in how to provide gender-affirming hormone therapy.
How I thrive: When I need to recharge, it is with a guitar in hand, skiing a mountain, reading a good book or just spending quality time with my family and friends.
Languages: I speak English and Spanish.

Caring, spent extra time with us, provided great education
Profesional & loving care
Christina was slowly and careful to work with me, which I liked. Her communication with me was great!
They are excellent.
Everything good to me
I had an amazing experience with this provider. Thank you.
She was super friendly, nice, experienced, knowledgeable, treated my teenage child with a lot of respect and agency, didn't talk down to them, and she was respectful of the family's wishes and wants and gave us all the information we needed and made it super easy and helpful and made the upcoming appointment smoothly in time and reassured us about any worries we had. Thank you.
Very kind and thorough, as well as being very understanding.
Very thorough and caring
Christina is very knowledgeable about trans healthcare. She was able to answer or provide feedback for my questions, and she also has knowledge on the more speculative side of trans healthcare that permeates through social media. My first meeting with Christina was a pleasant surprise.
Verry attentive. I felt like she cares about my child as much as I do.
This provider has been the most helpful provider I've had. She really listened to me and listened to my concerns and she's very knowledgeable and obviously very well educated and I'm extremely happy with the care that I have and I will be absolutely recommending OHSU and the provider to everybody.
Dr. Milano is one of the best doctors I have ever had. I feel heard and understood. She gives options that are not leading. One of the best doctors I've ever had. 10 out of 10 recommend.
Very good - she was incredibly informative whole still remaining accessible. I especially liked the timeline she used to demonstrate testosterone changes. Dr. Milano made sure that I felt heard and answered all of my questions during the meeting.
She was caring and professional. I didn't feel she was trying to rush me. She was sympathetic, and prescribed just what I needed.
I appreciated all the information I received on my appointment and how quickly the doctor scheduled my follow-up appointments.
She was very kind and helpful
