About me
Chris Fox is a nurse practitioner who is dedicated to caring for people living with HIV, from the newly diagnosed to long-term survivors. He considers HIV primary care to be his calling.
At OHSU, Fox provides HIV primary care and consultation in the Internal Medicine Clinic. He is the clinical lead for the OHSU Tele-PrEP Program. He also has an interest in hepatitis C treatment, and he provides treatment services to people in Portland and throughout Oregon using telemedicine.
Fox is passionate about educating current and future healthcare providers about HIV treatment and prevention. He is a faculty member with the Oregon AIDS Education Center, and he teaches in the OHSU School of Nursing.
Fox trained in HIV primary care at San Francisco General Hospital's Ward 86, the world's first HIV outpatient clinic, and at the University of California San Francisco School of Nursing. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, he worked as a nurse at the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and as a community health worker at the San Francisco Department of Public Health.
When he's not working, Fox enjoys cooking, reading, writing, hiking, and hanging out with his dog and friends.

Insurance
Before scheduling your appointment, we recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any copayments, co–insurance, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with OHSU providers, your out of pocket liability may be higher. Visit the billing and insurance section of our site for more information.
