About me

I’m an Associate Professor of Surgery and the Division Head of Abdominal Organ Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Surgery at OHSU. Since joining OHSU in 2015, I’ve been dedicated to advancing the field of organ transplantation, including:

My goal is to provide the highest level of care to patients facing these serious conditions. I’m deeply committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care and constantly working to improve transplant surgery to give my patients the best possible outcomes.

As part of my leadership role, I’ve helped transform OHSU’s transplant program by increasing the number of liver transplants from 60 to over 100 each year while maintaining the highest standards of care. I’ve also worked to expand the use of donor organs and introduce innovative techniques like normothermic perfusion, which helps improve patient outcomes and advance the field.

When I’m not in the operating room or mentoring future surgeons, I love spending time outdoors.
