About me

Dr. Geolani Dy joins the OHSU faculty after completing her residency at the University of Washington, and fellowship training in the areas of Gender-Affirming Genital Surgery, Robotic Surgery, Reconstructive Urology, and Prosthetics at New York University. Dr. Dy has focused her research on studying outcomes of Gender-Affirming Genital Surgery for transgender- and non-binary-identifying individuals from the patient and community perspective.

  6. Dr. Dy was exactly the competent professional I needed to talk to. She's someone I can trust with my care, even with something that will will alter my life this much. She answered all of my questions, treated me kindly and respectfully, communicated clearly, and made me feel comfortable when talking about things that are not easy to share. There's nothing I think she could have done any better during the time I talked to her, and I hope every patient who is treated this well appreciates it as much as I do.

  9. Dr Dy is grounded, honest, and direct. She is an amazing provider and provides professionalism and top tier care at every turn. I cannot imagine having gone through this surgery and aftercare with another surgeon.

  10. They were awesome. I was running into some stress around my appointment time vs my hotel checkout time and a flight out, and Dr Dy was super understanding and made sure we got everything covered that we needed to in the time that I had.

  11. Dr. D was such an amazing doctor. My situation has just been extremely difficult and just being able to do the initial vaginoplasty with her and then come back six months later and do the revision surgery was such an amazing experience even though it was under the circumstances where I actually had to come back for the revision surgery. She did an amazing job. She made me feel comfortable and safe. I recommend not only Dr. Giolani D as someone that, a transgender person who is seeking the specific surgery that I got to go to her hospital that you should choose if you want to do any type of surgery.

  12. She is always direct with me and we converse using technical medical terminology based upon our medical training. This provides accurate exchange of information. It's ideal to be treated as a peer v an ignorant patient.

  14. Dr. D has always had plenty of time to talk with me about my treatment and has always been cautious about what procedures she's going to be doing and talks through them with me thoroughly before doing anything. I really appreciate that.

  15. Dr. Dy is warm and compassionate. I really felt heard and supported by her. I was pleasantly surprised when, on the morning of my surgery, she wanted to go into details about my procedure and even asked if there was anything else I wanted addressed with my revision. This is the first time in all of my surgeries that I have had a surgeon go through such details the morning of surgery.

  16. Dr. Dy is absolutely incredible. She has saved my life, and continues to provide incredible care any time I see her.
