About me

Dr. Yoo specializes in caring for patients with cancer and blood disorders. His experience with oncology began at an early age when he witnessed his grandfather struggle with cancer. He saw how cancer not only affected the patient, but also their family as well. From that experience, he saw his life’s calling as a Hematologist/Oncologist. He is passionate about educating his patients and their families, so that they can be empowered to confront their disease. With the ever-changing landscape of Hematology and Oncology, Dr. Yoo is also excited to learn about new therapies and techniques that can ultimately help to improve the lives of patients. His favorite quote is by the great Dr. William Osler: “The good physician treats the disease; the great physician treats the patient who has the disease.” In keeping with this principle, Dr. Yoo considers it an honor and a privilege to be able to heal and to guide patients through their disease.

In his spare time, Dr. Yoo likes to explore the great outdoors and is excited to see what the Pacific Northwest has to offer. He considers himself a “foodie” and loves to try out different restaurants in and around Portland. He is an avid golfer, an occasional runner, and a lover of movies.
