About me
Jonathan (Jon) Soffer comes from a family of healthcare providers with both parents, a sister, and a spouse involved in the practice of medicine. Jon has worked at OHSU for some time, however has spent much of that time caring for patients in The Dalles, OR, and teaching within the OHSU School of Nursing in Portland. While in The Dalles, Jon championed and developed the SOMOS program, delivering on-site primary care to the Columbia Gorge Region’s thousands of migrant farmworkers. More recently, Jon has served as the clinical supervisor for OHSU’s mass vaccination efforts at PDX Airport, where he gained local notoriety for his PDX Pack Immunity Instagram account, which cataloged the companion animals of patients visiting the site. Jon is excited to continue his Internal Medicine practice at OHSU’s Marquam Hill Internal Medicine Clinic.
Jon has a strong interest in providing primary care to adult patients with complex medical conditions. In particular, he has a passion for coordinating care needs between specialist providers and other care team members. Jon has experience treating patients across the lifespan with varied health issues. In addition to providing general primary care, Jon also provides addiction medicine services as part of his practice. Outside of his routine primary care practice, Jon can also be found supporting the OHSU Preoperative Medicine Clinic at CHH2.
Jon resides in Hood River with his family. He is an avid photographer and loves to travel having previously lived in Denmark and many regions across the United States. He is an enthusiastic slow-pitch softball player, having “retired” from collegiate track and field in 2008.
