About me

Juliana Hansen, M.D., is Professor of Surgery and former head of the Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. Her training in San Francisco with some of the pioneers of aesthetic surgery, microsurgery and reconstructive techniques led to a particular interest in microsurgical techniques for breast reconstruction. By maintaining an active cosmetic surgery practice as well as a reconstructive practice, Dr. Hansen feels that she can give her breast cancer patients the best possible results. Many breast cancer patients desire or benefit from procedures on the opposite breast that can enhance their overall results. Dr. Hansen is an avid runner and, along with her husband Paul Hansen, M.D., participates regularly in the Hood to Coast relay and occasionally in the Portland Marathon. They also spend as much time as possible skiing with their two sons.

  12. I went into this appointment very nervous, because I had to wait 2 years for it to get here. The doctor tool her time and explained everything in length. Just to make sure I understand everything. Rights, responsibilities & possible complications. As well as a wait that has to be done in regards from my insurance provider.

  16. My appointment was right on time.It wasn't freezing cold, (Like most operating rooms.The music was tuned to MY preferred station, although it was turned off once they started with the procedure.I was kept comfortable.

There were complications with my original procedure necessitating further surgeries to which she took great care to make sure I was in the best of care at every step of the way.   37. She did a surgery on my clavicle and it came out wonderful. She has done a few other surgeries for me and I would not go to another plastic surgeon.

Further, Dr. Hansen helped me to understand an problem with my shoulder/neck area that was not something I expected her to be able to help with. She gave it the attention it needed in terms of pointing me to treatment options, and helping me get started. Outstanding - I am so happy I was able to meet with her! I feel much more optimistic than I did prior to this appointment!

  71. I arrived prepared to spend at least an hour waiting. I brought a book, crossword puzzle book, and even a second book, (just in case!). I also brought my drink, layers of clothing, because Dr's office are quite often cold. I waited at least 3-5 minutes, didn't need . The layers of clothing.The drink.The puzzle book. Definitely could have left the 2nd. book home also. The Dr. was very nice, no waiting, both the Dr and her assistant were kind and listened to me. helped me make educated choices . We came up with a plan. I left knowing that as soon as they could make time for me, the procedure I requested would be scheduled. All in, all done, I was back on the road in the hoards of traffic.....NOW if they could only fix that!
