I'm a patient who had seen the doctor and had surgery almost 3 years ago. I have the upmost respect for hhim and told him I had the symtoms return just recently. He was very understanding and we discussed about further options for me now and decided upon a course of treatment after reviewing the options open to me. He was attentive and respectful, forthcoming with the pros and cons and put me at ease .

My appointment was a phone appointment. The wrong Dr was scheduled. He was very nice and read my results to me. He contacted scheduling to get me an appointment with the correct Dr. They already called and I have set up an appointment with my Dr. Thank you.

Dr Burchiel spent time going through my history of my condition in detail. At the conclusion of this input from me, he was satisfied with my specific diagnosis and explained next steps and diagnostic tests and potential different surgical options. He was very direct and thorough with his responses to m y questions. I have every confidence in his treatment of me.

Doctor Birchall has saved my life. He has given me hope and he is the greatest thing that's ever happened to me in my medical history of 35 years. Period.

This was my first visit and Dr. Burchiel and his associates were very thorough. Many questions asked and many answered. Diagnosis was confirmed and plan was set in action. I was very impressed.

Everybody I encountered was a very helpful. Dr. Burchiel was great at explaining what my issues were and how he could help fix them.

The physician I saw gave me no hope of ever walking again. Didn't give me any options to try. I just really felt like I had no hope when I left his office. Um... But I'm gonna figure it out with the doctor. Something. The reason why I'm in this way is because I couldn't get in in a year. And being told that because I've had this problem with my leg for over a year, now there's nothing that can be done. I really felt like there could have been if I'd have been able to get in a year ago.

The doctor was nice and friendly, calming my nerves immediately. He didn't act arrogant like most Nuerologist that I have seen in the past. He listened to me, not once did he dismissed anything that I said. He explained everything clearly and answered my questions.

Dr. Brecher was very thorough, as was the resident who came to see me first. And they were very caring and thorough. They fully assessed my complaints and my symptoms and signs and were able to point me in the right direction. They were not overzealous about trying to convince me to have surgery, which I don't need, and instead were able to explain the issues I was having in a way that I could understand. Very thorough assessment, and I am now come away with much more hope than I had when I arrived there. So I'm extremely grateful for their expertise and their guidance in my case.

Kim seemed very knowledgeable but he was somewhat rude and argumentative, questioned my NF1 diagnoses verbally that ohsu gave me and told me not to answer questions he was asking out loud to the student doctor there. never had any problems with any provider at OHSU but this wasn't a very good experience

He is a caring, professional doctor. It was a pleasure being treated by him.

Amazing. I've only had Kaiser for decades but our insurance changed. Dr. Burchiel and his resident were amazing. They didn't speak over me, ignore my questions/concerns and had a perfect balance of knowledge and compassion. I realize my bar was incredibly low (Kaiser) but this visit was spectacular.

He has no bedside manner whatsoever. Every time I have come in for an appointment, he is in and out within 10 minutes. I don't feel like any of my issues have been heard. I feel as though my disease is of no interest to him. I left a private medical network to come to the renowned OHSU Nerve Center, and have received no help in navigating this illness I have been diagnosed with. I come in with questions and leave with even more. If he doesn't want to help me, then please, refer me to one of the other specialists in the center. It's hard enough living with a disease that has no cure without the added anxiety of dealing with a doctor that doesn't care.

I have known Dr Burchiel for over 25 years. He has provided excellent care and knowledge towards all my surgeries. He is sensitive and listens to my questions. Dr Burchiel is a gentleman who cares for me. I have recommended him and OHSU to family and friends. He is the very best. !

I appreciated that when it was determined that my condition fell outside DrBurchiel's specialty he was knowledgeable enough of other possible conditions that fit my symptoms that he was able to make a referral to another provider who has very good expertise and can possibly help me. This simple act in my experience is not the norm with specialty care and I appreciate it greatly!

My wife is currently cooking, but she asked me to share what we both experienced, and that is Dr. Verkal was wonderful from the very first consultation up until just before the surgery, and we could not be more pleased. They were incredibly careful with her hair, not to just shave it off, which would have been, I think, typical. And as a woman, that means a lot. So the surgery went well. We are very, very pleased with the results, and the entire staff was, from every single person we saw, frankly amazing. So we wish we'd live closer for any other needs.

Positive and informative visit - like all my visits to OHSU. Which is very appreciated because Parkinson's is a very annoying disease to deal with.

Dr. Burchiel listened to my concerns and asked me if I had any more questions. He was willing to keep working to figure out my issue even though my appointment took twice as long as it was supposed to. He worked with other providers to get me further testing faster than I was originally going to get it. I was much more impressed than I was at my last appointment. If anyone doesn't have a great appointment with him, they should give him another chance. I am glad that I did and thankful for his expertise!
