About me
Dr. Hernandez-Zepeda grew up in a small town on the coast of Oregon called Brookings. She attended the University of Portland where she double majored in Biology & Spanish and got the opportunity to study abroad in Granada, Spain. Before starting medical school, Dr. Hernandez-Zepeda worked as a medical scribe at Legacy Health and a barista at Sisters Coffee Company. Miriam has always valued community. She has a special interest in promoting culturally sensitive care and advocating for underserved populations. During medical school, she volunteered with several programs that provided mentorship to underrepresented high school students interested in the medical field, and she also participated in the Virginia Garcia mobile clinics that provided healthcare to farmworkers.

Insurance
Before scheduling your appointment, we recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any copayments, co–insurance, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with OHSU providers, your out of pocket liability may be higher. Visit the billing and insurance section of our site for more information.
