About me

Dr. Chahin is only accepting new patients with myositis.

Dr. Chahin, having trained in three fellowships at mayo clinic and having been on staff for many years at both university of North Carolina and Connecticut, has extensive expertise in diagnosing and treating patients with diverse neuromuscular disorders (disorders that affect muscle or nerves or the connection between muscle and nerves). His main interest is in diagnosing and treating patients with inflammatory myopathy, a disease that causes inflammation in the muscle.

In his spare time, Dr Chahin enjoys spending time with his family.

  19. Started out okay. Didn't expect a 2+ hr appt. Very uncomfortable with test at the end. Wasn't explained well beforehand and was told in a follow-up call, "ya, you didn't handle that very well".

  33. I enjoy the provider that I have. Dr. Shaheen is an excellent doctor and he takes time with you and he makes you feel like what you have to say or what you're requesting matters when he even reconsiders things after discussion. And that makes you feel valued as a patient. It also has made a difference in my care that I think other people care about my health. And I'm alone so it matters to me that I get that kind of attention from his staff. He always has teaching or students in with you or young doctors in with him. And so I know he's also teaching and we're all learning and teaching together. Thank you so much.

  37. My visit with Dr. Chahin was brief and to the point. But on a positive note he said that I am making progress so my baclofen pump is doing its job. Which of course I was very happy to hear.
