About me

Rebekah developed an interest in healthcare at a young age while providing HIV prevention education through a peer outreach program. After completing her undergraduate studies, she worked in reproductive health and as a community health educator before completing a Master of Social Work from Portland State University.

In her role as a behavioral health consultant, she applies her knowledge of health delivery systems and community mental health in her work with patients of all ages with a variety of primary care concerns. She is particularly interested in the healing power of the provider-patient relationship, promoting physician wellness, and the advancement of health equity initiatives within primary care.

When Rebekah is not in clinic, she is the director of the behavioral science curriculum for the department's family medicine residency program. In her role as a behavioral science educator, she works closely with physician learners as they develop patient centered communication skills, learn family oriented approached to care, and develop the skills to treat common mental health problems in primary care. Although not a native of the Northwest, Rebekah loves the region’s diverse landscape and enjoys adventures with her family in the outdoors. At home she enjoys gardening, cooking and going on long, slow walks with her rescue greyhound.
