  • Clinical Assistant Professor, School of Nursing

About me

Sara has been a nurse for 20 years and an FNP for 13 of those years. Her APRN clinical practice has been in the delivery of family medicine to under-served communities in Washington, DC, and Portland, OR, delivering full-scope family medicine including obstetric care, pediatrics, addiction medicine, and everything in between. Sara is interested in the intersection of social justice and climate change and is a member of the interprofessional team working to incorporate curriculum about the effects of humans on climate health (or the other way around?) Sara enjoys working with students as they become diagnosticians delivering evidence based medicine, while centering patients through a trauma informed care delivery model. Her doctorate work focused on improving care for pregnant and non-pregnant victims of intimate partner violence.
