About me

Veronica Hocker is a graduate from Duke University’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. She graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in neuroscience and behavior from Columbia University in the City of New York and obtained her medical degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. While at Johns Hopkins, she pursued multiple interests ranging from participating in an exploration of compassionate care within a Healer’s Art curriculum, pursuing a concentration in medical education and developing an interest in women’s health culminating in a qualitative project exploring media’s portrayal of pregnancy.
During residency at Duke, she served as chief resident of both Central Regional Hospital and Duke’s inpatient psychiatric unit, Williams Ward. At the 2018 American Neuropsychiatric Association conference, she presented both a poster and platform presentation on neurosyphilis induced psychosis as well as a poster on crystal methamphetamine use and catatonia. She continues pursuing her interests in education and in patient care with her position as an inpatient psychiatrist and assistant professor at Unity Center for Behavioral Health. A major contribution during her time at Unity has been the creation of a streamlined consultation service for ECT candidates.

If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with OHSU providers, your out of pocket liability may be higher.
