About me

Stephanie Crawford is a pediatric speech-language pathologist and the director of the  assistive technology clinic.

She specializes in evaluating and treating children who need augmentative and alternative communication, known as AAC. This type of communication uses signing, body language, books, computers, assistive technology and other methods to help children who have difficulty speaking or writing.

Stephanie has particular training and expertise in supporting children with autism and children with complex access needs who use AAC.

Before joining the team at OHSU, Stephanie worked in schools with children up to 5 years old. She enjoys working with families and school staff to expand their child's communication. She considers it rewarding to help a child communicate for the first time. She is passionate about giving families tools and support for natural and motivating communication at home.

In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys running and hiking. She can often be found exploring the Pacific Northwest’s many great trails or circumnavigating one of the area's mountains.

Insurance

Before scheduling your appointment, we recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any copayments, co–insurance, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with OHSU providers, your out of pocket liability may be higher. Visit the billing and insurance section of our site for more information.
