Welcome to OHSU's MD Program!

Now that you've been accepted into the Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) program, you will begin working with UME's Curriculum and Student Affairs Office (CASA) to complete all required tasks needed for you to matriculate at OHSU. This page will guide you through these onboarding requirements, as well as provide helpful information and resources leading up to your first day of medical school.
A few important notes:
- Make sure you complete the pre-matriculation tasks by the stated deadlines (see below on this webpage).
- You will have OHSU network access as early as May 2, 2025.
- When your enrollment is processed by the Registrar, directions for setting up your OHSU email account will be emailed to your preferred email on file in the Admissions Portal. The earliest you will have access to your OHSU network email address is May 2, 2025.
- Gmail has been known to block emails with an .edu address. In order to ensure your receipt of important emails this summer from CASA, we suggest you use another email provider or check your junk mail often.
If you had OHSU (including Tuality or Hillsboro Medical Center) email in the past, you must notify ITG Service Desk at 503-494-2222 (pick the option for "digital identify & access). Previous emails sometimes cause errors during activation so needs to involve ITG.

- Information for Pregnant and Parenting Students
One of the areas we have collaboratively worked on with medical students in our program is to improve how to better support and provide information and resources to students who are pregnant, currently parenting children, or those students who may consider becoming parents during medical school or residency training. The University has expanded the information on the Pregnant and Parenting Student section of the OHSU website, and the Assistant Dean for UME Student Affairs, Dr. Rebecca Cantone, is available to answer questions you may have. The OHSU MD Program is dedicated to supporting everyone in meeting their lactation goals. There are many lactation rooms available on campus that students can request access to. If you feel comfortable doing so, please reach out to one of the assistant deans (Dr. Rebecca Cantone or Dr. Benjamin Schneider) to inform them of your lactation status and discuss any accommodations you think you may need. We recognize that some students fear the stigma of being a lactating student but we are dedicated to helping minimize this and providing support. You can also reach out to Amalia Larsen (MS3) at larsenam@ohsu.edu anytime with questions or concerns about how to achieve your lactation goals at OHSU.
