Vanessa is currently a summer intern for the Myatt lab. Her project focuses on how GDM affects the expression of proteins in the fatty acid beta oxidation pathway. She will be analyzing trophoblast cells isolated from placental tissue. The methods she will be using include western blotting with specific antibodies and RNA quantification.

Vanessa is a senior at Linfield University majoring in Biology and Spanish. Outside of the lab and school she enjoys walking her dog.
