School of Medicine Alliance
Our mission
Since 1947, a tradition of friendship, community support and service to the Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine.
About the SMA
Established in 1947, the School of Medicine Alliance (SMA) works to serve the School of Medicine and greater OHSU community; support OHSU’s healthcare, research, and education missions; and connect members through dynamic interest groups and fun social gatherings.
Examples of SMA projects include Blankets and Books for Babies (B3); renovation of the family lounge in the NICU and student lounge and study areas; funding for needed equipment for students and for elective courses; and support for OHSU Food Resource Center, which aims to eliminate hunger in our community.
In addition to meeting to serve and support our local healthcare community, SMA members enjoy access to several special interest groups, including book groups, a garden group and the Threads knitting group.
Membership is open to individuals supporting the goals of the OHSU School of Medicine Alliance.
Join the SMA
The School of Medicine Alliance seeks members with an interest in participating in SMA’s service, social and fundraising events and projects. To be connected with an SMA member and learn more, please contact our Membership Chair.
