Please see below for information about the availability of commonly-requested software packages. Use the technical support links provided for each product if you need help with installation or have other questions.
Centralized software purchasing at OHSU is generally handled by ITG or the Provost’s Office. If you would like to make a request for an institutional license for software, please submit it to the Academic Technology Work Group of the Academic and Student Affairs Committee.

Adobe Creative Cloud provides users access to a variety of software used for graphic design, video editing and web development.
Adobe CC is available on one computer on the 4th floor of the OHSU Library at the BICC (the 24-Hour Space).

ATLAS.ti is a qualitative data analysis and management tool that helps users to systematically arrange, reassemble, and manage large bodies of textual, graphical, audio and video data.

EndNote is bibliographic management software that allows users to manage citations in personal libraries and create bibliographies based on a number of available journal or writing styles.

NVivo (produced by QSR International) is a software program used for qualitative and mixed-methods research. Specifically, it is used for the analysis of unstructured text, audio, video, and image data, including (but not limited to) interviews, focus groups, surveys, social media, and journal articles.
NVivo is available on one computer on the 4th floor of the OHSU Library at the BICC (the 24-Hour Space).

Access to Office 365 is now available to all OHSU students. Students may install the Office desktop applications on their personal devices and use them during the duration of their time at OHSU. Access to Office 365 along with troubleshooting information and links to Microsoft support can be found on the 365 Learning Portal.
RStudio is a free and open-source integrated development environment (IDE) for R (GNU S), a programming language for statistical computing and graphics. It is very similar to the S system and is capable of a wide variety of analytical tasks such as: linear and nonlinear modelling, statistical tests, time series analysis, classification, and clustering. It runs on most platforms and is a great tool for those supporting Open Science. For more information, please visit: https://www.rstudio.com/.

Please note: The annual SAS license will continue to work until Sept. 29 each year. We post new licenses as soon as we receive them.

If you're using a personal device, you may download the software through the SAS portion of our Sharepoint site. You can always find the newest client and license files, as well as installation and licensing instructions there.
SAS Statistics is a software package used for statistical analysis. The software is licensed only for academic purposes.
The Library provides access to the software but cannot provide technical support. Please contact SAS at: 1-800-727-0025 for installation help and technical assistance.

SPSS Statistics is a software package used for statistical analysis. It is available for OHSU students and employees for both work and personal computers. The software is licensed only for academic purposes.
If you are installing SPSS for a class you are taking, please confirm that your instructor has contacted the Library at: library@ohsu.libanswers.com

- Download SPSS Installer:
- The newest Windows and Mac installers can be found on the Library’s SharePoint site.
- Install SPSS:
- After you have downloaded SPSS you will need to install it. For help, please follow the instructions found at this link.
- Authorizing/Renewing SPSS License:
- The SPSS License requires renewal once a year.
- Do not start the authorization or renewal process while on the OHSU VPN. Authorization will fail.
- Be sure to select "Authorized user license" when using the License Authorization Wizard.
- The current version's (30) License Authorization Code can be found at the Library’s SharePoint site.
- Please note that the licenses are valid until Oct. 31, 2025 and will continue to be available for 30 additional days.
- If you have problems licensing the Mac version of SPSS please see these instructions for a possible solution.
- Troubleshooting tips for installation errors
- Make sure you are off the VPN.
- Verify the license code matches the current version on your computer.
- Reboot your computer and try again.
- Uninstall and reinstall the program from the beginning.

Express Scribe Transcription Software can be downloaded for Windows or Mac computers. The Library has a foot pedal available in our Equipment Collection.
oTranscribe is a web-based transcription option.
