Innovations Small Grants Program
Supporting faculty's innovative pilot studies that hold promise for advancing nursing science, education, and practice is a high priority of the School. Applications for funds are reviewed by external peer reviewers with matching expertise who set high standards for rigor and quality. Proposals are evaluated for significance, innovation, sustainability, and synergism with School and University priorities. The qualifications of faculty investigators and the feasibility of studies are considered carefully to maximize the probability of long-term success. Interprofessional collaboration is highly encouraged as it reflects the University's and the nation's value of team science.

Hartford Award for Research and Practice (HARP)
Through the HARP, the Hartford Center of Gerontological Excellence funds faculty research and practice change projects that aim to improve the health and care of older adults. An annual call for proposals solicits applications sent to external peer reviewers to evaluate for innovation, relevance, synergism, merit, and feasibility. At least one HARP is awarded annually to a faculty member of the School of Nursing. Other awards may be granted to an interprofessional research team. The "Interprofessional HARP" may have a Principal Investigator within the University but outside of the School of Nursing. However, a School of Nursing faculty member must be a Co-Investigator on the team.
We also make small HARP grants to select Ph.D. candidates in the final stages of their dissertations and to D.N.P. students to help support final projects that focus on nurses providing quality care to older adults.
Research and Scholarship Interest Groups
The purpose of the OHSU School of Nursing Research and Scholarship Support Program is to support collaborations that strategically advance programs of nursing research or scholarship. Research and Scholarship Interest Groups (RIG/SIG) serve as hubs for organizational and strategic thinking and prioritization of research/scholarship initiatives that guide the implementation of the School’s research mission. RIG/SIGs focus on innovative and high-impact research/scholarship initiatives and aim to attain well-defined productivity targets (e.g., interventions, publications, conferences, proposals, white papers, and reports). Finally, RIG/SIGs are guided by a well-structured research agenda that prioritizes significant research/scholarship needs and the School’s positioning and capacity to address such needs. Applications for new interest groups are accepted each spring.

Early Career Fellowship Program
Prompted by our research mission, the OHSU School of Nursing aims to excel at supporting early-career nursing scientists and scholars in their efforts to deploy impactful and sustainable scholarship programs. In response, a strategic priority has been defined to support the development and career progression of our faculty, including the deployment of their programs of scholarship. As part of this strategic priority, we have developed an early-career scholar fellowship program (EC Fellowship) to support faculty in the deployment of sustainable programs of research and scholarship via strategic planning, accessibility to research infrastructure (e.g., IRB, OCTRI), skill development (i.e., grant and scientific writing, team building), mentorship, and peer-support.

Undergraduate Research Engagement Program
The purpose of the OHSU School of Nursing Undergraduate Research Engagement Program is to provide engaging hands-on research/scholarship experiences to undergraduate students in the OHSU School of Nursing through mentored opportunities with faculty researchers/scholars across the School of Nursing. The aims of this program are to introduce undergraduate nursing students to the conduct of research and increase awareness among participants of the role of nursing science on health outcomes, informing possible future pursuit of a doctoral degree in nursing.

University
Oregon Clinical & Translational Research Institute (OCTRI)
OCTRI is the University's funded CTSA that provides direct support for novel translational research through pilot project funding, support for strategic initiatives, career development awards, and scholarships for students.
BIRCWH (Building Research Careers in Women's Health)
The BIRCWH funding mechanism is a highly competitive mechanism that awards NIH funds to support early career investigators in women's health from across the University.
