Oregon Medical Coordination Center
The Oregon Medical Coordination Center helps hospitals place patients when hospitals lack the capacity or capability to place patients at their facilities or within their systems.
If you can’t place a patient in your region or through usual referral pathways, you can call us anytime at 833-449-OMCC (6622).
We help find beds for patients who need:

- Pediatric ICU
- NICU
- Obstetrics
- Pediatric and adult acute care
What is the Oregon Medical Coordination Center?
The Oregon Medical Coordination Center is a state-funded collaboration between the Oregon Health Authority and Oregon’s Regional Resource hospitals. OMCC goals are to:
- Improve equitable access to care.
- Decrease duplicate work for Oregon medical practitioners.
What to expect
When you call OMCC, you’ll talk with clinically trained staff. We’ll ask for:
- Patient name
- Patient date of birth
- Diagnosis
- Reason for transfer
- Level of care
- Which Oregon hospitals you’ve tried to transfer to
We use real-time data to help place your patient. We look for beds as close to your patient’s home as possible.
We do not:
- Transfer patients.
- Coordinate transportation. This is the referring hospital’s responsibility.
- Support patient discharge coordination.
- Provide reports on statewide hospital capacity.
- Coordinate with hospitals outside Oregon or southwest Washington.
