Education and Training
At the OHSU Brain Institute, we're training the next generation of scientists to investigate neurological disorders. Our programs train neuroscientists to work with experts from other disciplines, bringing knowledge and skill from every field of medicine and science to brain and nervous system research.
"The proof is in the pudding." So says Matthew Lattal, Ph.D., about the degree of collaboration between scientists at the OHSU Brain Institute. If you explore publications by our faculty, you will find that "everyone is in each other's papers." That's one reason Dr. Lattal has been with OHSU for 12 years in the Department of Behavioral Neuroscience - another is the flexibility he has to go in new directions with his research. Overall, he says, OHSU and Portland have become home. Read more about Dr. Lattal's research into the neurobiology of learning and memory.
