Website Accessibility
OHSU works to make our public website and digital content easy to use for everyone. We want all people, including those with disabilities, to be able to access our information and services.
Our standards
We work every day to improve the accessibility of our public website. We follow the same accessibility standards used by the state of Oregon and the federal government. These standards are called the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.
What we do
To support accessibility, we:
- Use clear, easy-to-understand language
- Make documents accessible, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files
- Add text descriptions (alt text) to images
- Provide captions for videos
- Provide text versions of audio content, such as podcasts
- Create webpages that work with screen readers and keyboards
- Use simple fonts and strong color contrast
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We regularly review our website and make updates to improve access for all users.

We welcome your feedback.
