Octaviano Merecias-Cuevas, M.A., MBT, HETC, is a Doctoral student at John Hopkins University with more than 15 years of learning and development experience in the private, nonprofit, and higher education sector. Before OHSU, Octaviano served as the policy and civic engagement manager at Latino Network and the associate director of outreach for Oregon State University's Center for Latino/a/x Studies and Engagement. He also served as a faculty of extension for OSU's School of Social and Behavioral Health Sciences. Currently, Octaviano serves as the program manager for Organizational Training and Education on DEI at the Center for Diversity and Inclusion. Octaviano is a photographer, a spoken word writer/performer, and an outdoors enthusiast.
