Specimen Requirements:
6 mL blood in a LAVENDER top (EDTA) tube. Spin within 24 hours and freeze 2.5 mL plasma immediately.
Alternatively, serum from a red top tube may be separated, frozen, and submitted for testing.
Plasma or serum is stable for 5 days refrigerated or 60 days frozen.
Pediatric Specimen Requirements:
2.5 mL blood in a LAVENDER top (EDTA) tube. 1.0 mL plasma minimum. Spin within 24 hours and freeze immediately.
Alternatively, serum from a red top tube may be prepared, frozen, and submitted for the assay.
Plasma or serum is stable for 5 days refrigerated or 60 days frozen.
