Specimen Requirements:

5 mL blood in a RED top tube. Refrigerated and Room temperature specimens are stable for up to 7 days.

Pediatric Specimen Requirements:

2 mL blood in a 4 mL RED top tube. Refrigerated and Room temperature specimens are stable for up to 7 days.

Comments:

Refrigerate if overnight. A flow cytometric assay is performed to determine the presence, and possible specificity of IgG anti-class I and class II HLA antibodies. May be used to determine the probability of a patient being positive in the flow crossmatch against a random donor.
