Interpretation:

A positive result for BV, Candida, Gardnerella, and/or Trichomonas means nucleic acid is present in the sample and indicates the patient has Candidiasis, Bacterial Vaginosis and/or Trichomoniasis when combined with clinical signs and symptoms.

Specimen Requirements:

Vaginal swab collected using Aptima Multitest collection kit.
Stable at room temperature or refrigerated for 30 days or refrigerated for 6 months. Stable frozen for 80 days

Pediatric Specimen Requirements:

As above.
