Specimen Requirements:

6 mL blood in a LAVENDER top (EDTA) tube. Refrigerated specimens are stable for up to 7 days. Room temperature samples are stable for up to 24 hours.

Pediatric Specimen Requirements:

2 mL blood in a 3 mL LAVENDER top (EDTA) tube. Refrigerated specimens are stable for up to 7 days. Room temperature samples are stable for up to 24 hours.

Comments:

A DNA test (polymerase chain reaction-sequence specific primers, sequence specific oligonucleotides, or Next Generation Sequencing) for the detection of the HLA-B27 antigen.
