Biography
Dr. Maughan joined the Department of Emergency Medicine in 2018. His current research focuses on sex-based differences in emergency department evaluation of suspected pulmonary embolism. Other research interests include prescription opioid abuse; health care financing and alternative payment models; cost effectiveness analysis; clinical quality measure development; and the Coosing Wisely program. In his free time, Dr. Maughan enjoys running, cycling, mindfulness meditation, and spending time with his family.
