Biography
Brianna Hanson joined the faculty in November 2016. She is the Acting Director of Academic Education and the Director of Curriculum Design and Innovation. She directs multiple courses during the academic phase of the program. They include Intro to Pathophysiology/Mechanisms of Disease and all three terms of Basic Science. In addition to course direction, she teaches in several clinical medicine courses, physical diagnosis, and the problem-based learning course.
Brianna has a Master of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of California, Riverside. Prior to becoming a PA she worked as a forensic biologist developing and validating forensic procedures for the evaluation and testing of biological materials. She earned her Master of Physician Assistant Practice at the University of Southern California and went on to practice in internal medicine and sleep medicine. She continues to practice medicine as a volunteer clinician with ¡Salud! providing preventative and interim care to vineyard workers throughout the Willamette Valley
With her free time Brianna enjoys being with her family, paddleboarding, and gardening.
