As an osteopathic physician, Dr. Brooke Bachelor works to address the physical, emotional and spiritual health of her patients. Dr. Bachelor has received additional training in osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT), a hands-on technique that supports the body's ability to heal.

Before medical school, Dr. Bachelor worked in Chicago as a bedside nurse in general and cardiac intensive care. She also worked as a community health nurse in the mountains of Peru  as part of a Princeton University fellowship and in urban Uganda for a year as a quality improvement nurse through a Global Health Corps fellowship.

Dr. Bachelor's exposure to many health approaches sparked her passion for preventive and end-of-life care. It also fueled her interest in complementary approaches to conventional medicine.

Dr. Bachelor is also passionate about making all reproductive health care accessible and improving health care systems. She is energized by working with patients who use lifestyle changes to improve their health, who have trouble accessing care, who are Spanish-speaking or who are pregnant.

“I feel extremely privileged to establish long-term partnerships with my patients and to be present for them as they move through some of the most meaningful moments of their lives,” she says.

Originally from the Chicago area, Dr. Bachelor feels at home in Portland. In her free time, she likes to hike, run, forage, visit local markets and coffee shops, meditate, write poems and play the banjo. She also enjoys preparing plant-based meals and sourdough pancakes from scratch.
