Bruce Havens, D.D.S., Ph.D.

  • Assistant Professor of Orthodontics, School of Dentistry

Biography

Dr. Havens graduated from UCLA School of Dentistry and earned his Certificate in Orthodontics and PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. He was on the faculty at UConn from 2004-2008.

After moving back home to California in 2008, Dr. Havens owned a solo-practitioner orthodontic office for 15 years in the cities of Fresno and Selma where he became well-versed in all aspects of clinical orthodontics as well as owning a small business. In 2022, Dr Havens sold his practice, relocated to the greater Portland area, and joined the faculty in Orthodontics at OHSU. He continues to work as an Independent Contractor on a part-time basis for the new owner of his former practice.

Dr. Havens’s passion has been treating patients with craniofacial anomalies since his days as an orthodontic resident. He is honored to share his expertise and to give back to his local community as a long-time member of the Craniofacial Anomaly Teams at Valley Children’s Hospital, Madera, CA; at UCSF, Fresno, CA; and, more recently, at Shriner’s Hospital, Portland, OR as their Team Orthodontist.
