Biography

Dr. Hoekstra is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Informatics and Clinical Epidemiology. He teaches courses in qualitative methods and organizational behavior.  In addition to his work at OHSU he serves as the Director of Knowledge Management for a large privately-owned physical therapy company in the NW.  His research eamphasizes organizatoinal facilitators and barriers to adoption of technology, with an emphasis on clinical quality and value.  In addition, he serves on the Scientific Advisory Panel for the Physical Therapy Outcomes Registry which shapes the research agenda for registry data, and maintains integrity and clinical relevance of the data set.  He is also currently a memeber of an AHRQ-funded study exploring the safe use of medical scribes
