Biography
Connor Frankston is a Biomedical Engineering PhD student at OHSU, where he is part of the CEDAR program, working under the mentorship of Dr. Gürkan Yardımcı and Dr. Sadık Esener. He earned a dual B.S. in pure mathematics and nanoengineering from UC San Diego in 2019. Following his undergraduate studies, Connor volunteered in the Read Lab at UC Irvine, contributing to research on mathematical models of methylation dynamics.
Currently, his research focuses on developing computational methods to analyze bulk and single-cell multi-omics data, with a particular emphasis on integrating 3D genomics with RNA-seq and ChIP-seq data. Through this work, Connor aims to uncover insights into gene regulation in both healthy and cancerous cells, with the goal of advancing understanding of fundamental biology and improving human health.
Originally from Yorba Linda, CA, Connor enjoys reading, playing music, and practicing meditation in his free time.
