Biography
Dana Braner, M.D., FAAP, FCCM, has been caring for critically ill infants and children at OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital for over 30 years. He served as the Chief of OHSU’s Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and Medical Director of Doernbecher’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) for 14 years. He is also widely known and admired as an editor of computerized medical education programs and as a medical volunteer who has aided victims of natural disasters such as the 2004 Indonesian tsunami and the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. In recognition of his excellent leadership, Dr. Braner was appointed as the Alice K. Fax Professor of Pediatric Critical Care in 2006. Dr. Braner was named as Physician in Chief and Department Chair of the Department of Pediatrics, as well as the Credit Unions for Kids Chair, in 2016. In 2023, Dr. Braner was named the Associate Dean of Children's Services.
Dr. Braner received his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, completed his pediatrics residency at the University of Colorado, Denver, and a fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at the University of California, San Francisco.
In his spare time Dr. Braner enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He is also deeply involved in the formation of a unified field theory that would tie space, time and matter together into a unified whole.
