Biography

I’m Elizabeth Torwekar, a Pediatric Hospitalist focusing on the full spectrum of conditions that affect hospitalized children, including asthma, bronchiolitis, pneumonia, and faltering growth.

I provide diagnostic and therapeutic treatments according to the standard of care for hospitalized children, such as antibiotics for acute bacterial infections, supportive care for viral infections, and fluids for dehydration. I also offer multidisciplinary care for medically complex children who require acute hospitalization.

I love working within a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care. I particularly enjoy getting to know families, understanding their individual needs and preferences, and finding ways to communicate effectively across different cultures and backgrounds.

My approach is patient-centered; I strive to ensure that families fully understand the care their children are receiving and that they have the opportunity to provide input whenever appropriate.

Outside of work, I have two young sons (ages 2 and 5 months) and two dogs. I enjoy hiking and endurance sports, especially long-distance running—I’ve completed many marathons and even an Ironman triathlon.
