Evan Skora, B.S. (he/him)
- Research Project Coordinator, CEDAR, OHSU Knight Cancer Institute, School of Medicine
Biography
Evan Skora joins CEDAR as an aspiring medical student. Evan attended Portland State University (PSU) for his undergrad where the focus of his studies was on Vertebrate Anatomy and Physiology. Evan had the opportunity to work in the Dr. Lutterschmidt lab, assisting in ongoing projects regarding reproductive mechanisms and gene expression in the Red-Sided Garter Snake. Originally, Evan had aspirations of attending Veterinary School. However, after having worked as a vet tech for a few years, Evan realized that this was not the relationship he wanted to have with animals going forward. But he did still enjoy science, medicine, and healthcare. And so, he switched his goals to pursue Medical School, which has ultimately led him here to CEDAR! Evan hopes to gain a lot from working in a lab, flexing his technical skills while having the opportunity to communicate with the several doctors, physicians, and scientists on staff. On his off time, Evan enjoys playing with his dog and cat, going on long hikes/walks with his husband, and playing long hours of thrilling video games. Evan is thrilled to be here at CEDAR and is excited to share his experience and background with the team.
