Hannah Zane, M.D., Ph.D.

Biography

Dr. Zane became interested in clinical medicine during her Ph.D. training in chemistry where she was studying iron metabolism in bacteria. While she understood the importance of basic science research in the advancement of medicine, she realized that she wanted a more direct role in patient care which lead to her eventually obtaining her medical degree. She loves getting to know her patients and research interests include how to better communicate and build trust with patients.

Outside of work, Dr. Zane enjoys spending time with her husband and dog, Meatball. She loves Portland for the trail running/hiking and all the delicious Pacific Northwest beers.
