Heather K. Reed, M.S.N., F.N.P.-C (she/her)

Biography

I am a family nurse practitioner specializing in the care of adult patients with breast cancer. My responsibilities include administering chemotherapy and endocrine therapy.

I find great value in listening to my patients as they share what matters to them, what they love about their lives and the challenges they face. This not only helps me consider their treatment options but also allows me to appreciate their unique perspectives on life. I believe that the role of a health care provider is to act as an advisor while recognizing that patients are the ultimate decision-makers. My job is to provide them with information and support their choices, acknowledging that few things in medicine are absolute. Earning a patient's trust is both an honor and a privilege.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, including my beloved pets. I have a passion for crafts, especially embroidery and knitting. I also love to travel and advocate for health care providers and their patients through my work with Advanced Practice United.

I am a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and have worked in health care for 13 years, mainly in Portland. In July 2024, I transitioned to specializing in breast cancer after previously working in primary and urgent care.
